The recent story ... so far!

Timperley had a brass band for many years until the later 1950's. In 1999 the band was reformed by a small group of enthusiasts and, under the musical direction of Graham Hetherington, went from strength to strength.

In 2000, the bands first year of contesting, they won The Buxton Entertainment Contest, Pontins, the Wilkinsons North West Open and the Widnes Open as well as taking 1st place at 8 of the venues at the Tameside Whit Friday Marches. 2001 saw continued success with 1st place at the Tameside Open, and a 3rd place at Preston and further victories at the Whit Friday marches

The bands greatest success came in 2002, when they were awarded 1st place at the North West Area. The band then traveled to the National Finals to take 4th place and promote the band into the 3rd Section.

Once in the 3rd Section, the band continued where they had left off, taking 3rd place at Pontins in 2002, and in 2003 4th place at the North West Area
